The conventional tanning use different tanning bed lamps from high pressure tanning beds. High tanning beds use quartz tanning bed lamps. These lamps are available in various lengths. Lamps in high pressure tanning beds tan you body from the top of the bed. In order to tan your body with these lamps you will first lay face up for about 12 minutes. After that, you will turn over on your chest and expose your back for the same period. This will tan the other side of the body also.
Let us look at another major advantage of high pressure tanning beds. We know that both types of tanning beds, whether high pressure or conventional, emit UV radiation. Whereas conventional tanning beds emit both UVA and UVB radiation, high-pressure tanning beds emit only UVA radiation, while filtering out the most of the UVB radiation. This ensures that tanning under a high-pressure tanning beds is not only shorter, but also a much safer experience.
As high-pressure tanning beds reduce or eliminate the UVB radiation, the exposure to dangerous radiation is reduced and the chances of your developing skin conditions such as melanoma are significantly reduced.
The next time you walk into a tanning saloon, it would be a good idea to find out whether the saloon uses conventional tanning lamps or high-pressure tanning lamps.
