Do try and wear protective clothing gear like
scarves, hats and caps while going out.
Sunglasses are also extremely important to protect
your sensitive eyes from the harsh glare of the sun. Purchase good
quality sunglasses which block out 99 to almost 100 % of the rays.
Even children are recommended to wear sunglasses.
Do check for any abnormal growth on the skin or abrupt growth of moles
etc. Also look out for changes in texture, size, color and shape of
blemishes that do not heal. They may be pre-cancerous skin conditions.
Even a sore throat that does not heal can indicate a cancer. It is
advisable to go the doctor at the earliest and rule out any such
condition.
Do take extra precautions if you have a particularly sensitive skin.
Also, if you are on certain medications or pills, like the birth
control pills, then it is absolutely advisable to follow all the
precautions before going in for tanning.
Also, it is better that you go in for moderate tanning. In simple terms,
moderate tanning refers to getting a tan without getting sunburned. All
of it basically depends on the type of skin of the person. If the person
is green-eyed and fair, it is difficult for him to acquire a tan. He
will rather get sunburned and that should be avoided at all costs. On
the other hand, a dark-skinned person will get tanned easily even with a
short duration of sun exposure. Thus, moderate tanning is the right way
to go on. It is okay to acquire a tan slowly and gradually rather
burning yourself out in the sun at one instance. So, be smart and get a
tan without getting yourself sunburned.
